A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. James Andrews graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dental Medicine in 1974. He accepted a teaching position with the University's Department of Oral Medicine until entering the United States Army Dental Corps as a Dental Officer. After serving at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Andrews established a private dental practice in Summerville in 1978.

Highly-regarded for his skills in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, Dr. Andrews has also completed numerous, advanced courses to provide patients with all tooth replacement options, including dental implants. He is skilled in providing all phases of implant dentistry in one, convenient location and ensures patient comfort and safety at all times. Additionally, Dr. Andrews is Certified to provide I.V. Sedation to give patients the option of having treatment performed in a twilight sleep state, leaving little or no memory of any part of the procedure while they remain totally comfortable. Oral sedation is also available. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and is devoted to the community through ongoing civic involvement.

Chris, Financial Coordinator
For over 20 years, Chris has worked in the dental field, primarily handling insurance and helping patients with financial options. A “people person”, Chris loves helping patients to budget for the smile they desire. She also enjoys being a grandmother to 6!
 
Jeannine, Registered Dental Hygienist
For over 16 years, Jeannine has been a part of Dr. Andrews' team. She received her hygiene degree as well as anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation certificate in 1994. Jeannine has completed training to stay current with the latest developments in oral health. She enjoys helping patients have a thorough understanding of proactive steps for a confident smile.

Rachel, Registered Dental Hygienist
This Spartanburg native received her degree and anesthesia certification in 2001 from Trident Technical College. She has been with Dr. Andrews since graduation. She loves meeting new people and helping them maintain a healthy smile.

Sunshine, Certified Dental Assistant
The newest member of Dr. Andrews’ team, Sunshine has been in the dental field for 3 years after completing training at MUSC. She enjoys helping patients and the advanced dental technology the practice features. She has two young sons.

Sandy, Administrative Manager
Sandy is a long time member of our team and helps keep our office running smoothly. In her leisure time, you can find her cheering on the Charleston StingRays!
